about
May Queen, in the spirit of remaining a youthful soul as one grows older, spins a web of gentle reminiscent reverie. A reflection on early moments of innocence and bliss, it unfolds like a blossoming flower bordering on an incantation for strength, energy, and hope.
Waves of tremolo-reverb guitar, softly expanding synths, and sensually laid-back drums radiate a subtle glow of innocence and serenity. Hauntingly intimate, it is the feeling of being safely suspended in thought; a cocoon of lush flowers and greenery where bare toes can dig and curl into velvety grass.
lyrics
Sunshine Pours and streams through the window
Reminding me now of flowers in my hair
Do you remember that book we used to share?
Loving each word that said all the things we never dared.
May Queen, May Queen
Take me for your own
I’ve caught myself fading and
Dream all day long
For you
For you
And me
Dancing in circles hands tightly linked
Turning pirouettes and leaping frogs
Ice cream dripping from the corners of our smiles
Whispering in languages only we could understand
May Queen, May Queen
Take me for your own
I’ve caught myself fading and
Dream all day long
For you
For you
And me

Zoom In Zoom Out is beautifully reflective. Mally allows herself to be so vulnerable, but the underlying flow shows an incredibly strong woman. I'm honoured to have had a part in it. Hazel Iris
